There’s something about African Prints that is just so irresistible. No matter how many prints you already have, you never have enough if you’re like the average African woman. One of my favourite things about African prints or Ankara is its versatility and texture. This versatility and its exoticness are part of the reasons they make a great headwrap or gele like it’s popularly called in Nigeria.
The Ankara gele is an in-thing right now and it’s easy to see why. Asides from its cultural symbolism, the texture of the fabric, unlike damask and aso oke, is softer and easier to deal with.
